Learning Space, Conference Room, and Video Conference Room Design

Service Description

The Learning Space and Conference Room Service provides design support for all campus departments for conference rooms and general purpose classrooms (GPCs). The service consists of consulting expertise for standard specifications for equipment/technology for any type of room (conference room, seminar room, departmental classroom, office), as well as project work with Facilities and/or other construction groups to provide drawings/information as needed. Staff will assist with Project Management from design to installation until a room is complete including training customers on use of technology. Staff work closely with room technology companies on state contracts for more complex scope and room requirements on behalf of clients. Upon completion of installation of room technology, ITS will provide support for the room for an annual fee (TBD based on the level of support needed and equipment installed).


Our services are used by faculty, staff, and anyone affiliated with UNC.

Supported Environment/Services


There is no cost for the consulting services for room technology design and project management for installation. Annual support costs are calculated based on the technology supported and type of support needs. The customer owns the equipment and pays for all repairs (as applicable) on a time and materials basis.
