What is it?

The purpose of the data mart optimization project is to streamline processes and provide a way for end users to maintain the mapped values between UNC Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and the UNC System Office data marts.

Why are we doing it?

Currently, the data mapping between UNC-CH and the UNC System Office is maintained by developers, and requests for changes are dependent on the developers’ availability. This project will create an interface that will give end users the ability to manage their own mapped values between the data marts.

How does this impact our UNC community?

This will impact users of the UNC-CH and UNC System Office data marts.

When is this happening?

  • Phase 3 – Users will be able to create their own run control. Started on April 1, 2023. Expected completion: August 31, 2023.
  • Phase 2 – Users will be able to update their own mappings and review code. Started on January 4, 2022. Completed on March 31, 2023.
  • Phase 1 – Create data mart user interface. Completed on December 23, 2021.
