UNC Customer Support Tool – RFP and Vendor Selection
CompletedWhat is it? ITS is exploring options for a new UNC Customer Support Tool to replace ServiceNow. This phase of the project will include posting a Request for Proposal (RFP) and selecting a vendor. Why are we doing it? ITS originally implemented ServiceNow in 2019 and the current contract runs through September 2024. UNC Customer Support Tool – Implement TeamDynamix & Close ServiceNow Contract

UNC Guest Network Remediation
CompletedWhat is it? ITS Security is implementing configuration changes that will limit certain activities on the Guest Networks (UNC-Guest and UNC-Guest-PSK). The project will prepare the UNC Community for this upcoming change. Why are we doing it? Currently, the UNC-Guest Network is used extensively for purposes it was not intended for, for example University business. Upgrade and Transition of Software Distribution
CompletedThe PHP platform that the Software Distribution service operated on was no longer supported by the vendor, so this project upgraded the platform. The project also transitioned support of the service from ITS Infrastructure and Operations to the University Services team in ITS Enterprise Applications.
Upgrading to Ping: The Next Generation of Soft Phone
ActiveWhat is the project? ITS is replacing the current Communicator soft phone software client with new software called “Ping, powered by Clearspan”. This software allows customers to use their desktop or mobile device to make and place phone calls using a UNC phone number.
