Data & Reporting Environments & Application Middleware Service Areas
Enterprise Database Administration
Enterprise Database Administration is responsible for the database administration for all CA-IDMS, Oracle, MySQL databases housed on servers at ITS. Enterprise Database Administration manages the physical structure, performance, security, and backup and recovery of the databases.
Enterprise Reporting & Departmental Systems
This group brings data into an integrated enterprise data warehouse from central administrative systems across campus. After bringing in the data, it is shared across campus via information ports like Infoporte, which also houses the CORES system and the Access Request tool, Tarheel Reports, which contains RAM Reports, and supports the enterprise installation of Tableau. This group also supports the data warehouse, including the use and design of content for units to connect to and use data not provided via standard reports offered in the above services.
Middleware
The Middleware group provides application server support for Java-based applications such as Sakai, SOA, the ITSApps cluster, and reverse proxy services provided to Campus Solutions. The group also provides infrastructure support for other campus technologies, including OnCore, the events calendar, the ITS content management system and web.unc.edu.
