By subscribing to ITS News Tech Connect, you will learn what’s new from ITS and about tech tips, upcoming changes, events and more. The new monthly opt-in newsletter has something for everyone at UNC — no matter your role or experience with technology.
ITS soft-launched the newsletter in August. You can view the first issue online and subscribe to receive future ones. Expect to receive a new issue around the middle of each month.

When you subscribe, you’ll receive a monthly issue with the latest articles from ITS News and other tidbits from ITS, like upcoming events.
ITS News is campus’ main source for information from ITS. Aimed at the wider UNC audience, ITS News showcases ITS achievements, communicates changes or new technologies and shows how ITS supports the University mission and strategic plan and empowers teaching, learning and work.
While ITS News primarily highlights the work of ITS, ITS News also showcases campus partnerships and how those partnerships support the entire UNC community.
Expanding how you can connect with tech
ITS News Tech Connect is part of ITS’s ongoing efforts to communicate and engage with Tar Heels in ways that work for them. The new ITS News Tech Connect newsletter is part of this initiative, offering a convenient way to stay informed about tech news and updates at UNC right in your inbox.
Other ways we’ve made it easier to connect with ITS
In July 2023, ITS launched accounts on Instagram and Threads. Follow for news, tips, events and glimpses behind the scenes of ITS. You can also follow ITS on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In August 2023, ITS enabled users to subscribe to ITS Status email notifications. ITS Status keeps campus informed about planned maintenance for ITS services and when services are experiencing issues. When you subscribe to status, you’ll receive emails including published maintenance notifications, notifications when maintenance starts and stops and all related incident information.
In July 2024, ITS expanded how you can connect with ITS when you need tech help. Now, you can email support@help.unc.edu in addition to other support options — chat and help requests in the Help Portal, visiting the Service Desk in-person and calling 919-962-HELP (4357).
