For March, ITS News is highlighting the work of the Research Computing unit of Information Technology Services.
During the month, you’ll learn about Senior Computational Scientist Shubin Liu and his contributions for the past five years to the first phase of University-led research into advancing solar energy technologies for producing solar fuels. We will tell you about Research Computing’s work on a nationwide cancer genome research effort in which Research Computing hit its all-time high storage usage amount for a single project.
Also during March, ITS News will share a customer case study from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Microbiome Core Facility, which relies on Research Computing expertise as the core increasingly collects more sequencing data information from microbiomes.
Toward the end of the month, in the Faces of ITS feature, Mark Reed, who manages Research Computing’s scientific engagement team, will discuss what keeps him excited about his work and what lies ahead for Research Computing.
