Next Meeting
Topic: ITS-TL demos of Interwrite Pad and Panopto CourseCast
Our next meeting will feature demonstrations of low-cost solutions for enhancing same-place-and-time presentations.
Interwrite Pad
The Interwrite Pad works with any Windows or Macintosh computer connected to a video projector to give a presenter full input access to that computer while moving freely about even large rooms. For much less than the combined cost of a tablet PC and wireless projector, the Interwrite pad offers standard mousing, command shortcuts, a virtual keyboard, and digital inking on any application that's displayed on-screen. Still screen-captures can be exported to PDF for distribution among members of a class.
Panopto Coursecast
Panopto Coursecast is a software-based lecture/presentation capture system that also allows students to take text notes during or after class that are then time-synced with a recorded session. Panopto Recorder integrates on-screen video capture with input from any connected audio or video device. While Recorder currently runs only on Windows, students can use Windows or Macintosh browsers that work with Microsoft Silverlight to view recorded lectures, take notes, and search content.
