ITS Buildings and Facilities Planning
The Buildings and Facilities Planning Group is responsible for overseeing planning and construction of buildings and facilities that support the University's ITS staff and equipment.
ITS Franklin Building
The newly renovated 56,250 square foot ITS Franklin building located at 440 West Franklin Street is scheduled for completion in November, 2005. This building was originally constructed in 1951 and purchased by the University in 1974 at which time it was renovated to accommodate the business offices of the University. This latest renovation will be made to accommodate the offices of Information Technology Services. Work will include removal of asbestos, enlargement of the central computer room, replacement of electrical, lighting & air conditioning systems, upgrading of the building to meet codes and general refurbishing of building spaces. The first phase of the work was achieved on June 1, 2005 within budget and on schedule. Expected occupancy is scheduled for November 1, 2005 and will house almost 210 members of the ITS family.
ITS Manning Building
The ITS Manning building, a new 94,000 square foot structure, will contain an 11,000-square-foot machine room.
Estimated date of occupancy is December, 2006.
Demolition of the Bennett Building is complete and the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new ITS Building took place April 15.
New Chase IT Annex
This is a 10,000-square-foot facility, scheduled for completion during 2006. ITS folks will share the space with other University entities.
