Management Consulting

 Management Consulting

What do we mean by Management Consulting?

To realize the value of IT systems today, you have to understand both the business process and the IT environment. In Management Consulting the goal is to leverage information technologies to connect and streamline business processes.

Working alongside departments or other business units, the ITS Business Analysis team consults with campus customers to analyze system needs and identify best practices. Using in-depth knowledge of the customer's business functions, they ensure that customer perspectives and needs are understood, represented and communicated.

Note

The Business Analysis team is often asked to assist in the implementation of certain changes and improvements. They are frequently called upon to supply a representative to a campus task force convened to work on a specific matter (e.g., income-tax withholding requirements for nonresident-alien graduate assistants).

An analysis and review of the current organization, its processes, and its procedures result in recommendations for improvements. These may include streamlining or changing business processes and/or creating detailed specifications for application development.
