ITS offers a free Active Directory (ad.unc.edu) service to any department.
  • This resilient system allows ITS offer a highly available service to meet the needs of campus.
  • Delegated control of your OU.
  • User accounts and passwords are synchronized with campus ONYEN IDs.
  • Full support for all custom groups, service accounts, computer accounts, child OUs, etc. in your departmental OU.
  • Opt-in to campus best practice Group Policy and/or create your own based on your need.
  • Provides single-sign-on authentication for ITS Exchange and Sharepoint services.

Hours of Availability

This service is available 24x7.

Any UNC-CH department.

Customer Responsibilities

Customer is responsible for responsible use of the system including mailbox management, distribution list management, and adherence to the UNC Network Acceptable Use Policy.
