Service Description
This service provides a centralized approach for managing and distributing campus-wide software licenses for all Faculty, Staff and Students. The Software Acquisition office offers over 60 software titles through a repository of free shareware software downloads (shareware.unc.edu) and licensed software products (software.unc.edu). By utilizing campus wide software licenses, the Software Acquisition office is able to provide most software either free to campus or heavily discounted, providing an overall cost savings for the University. On average the annual cost savings to the University is over $7.5 million dollars. Other services offered through the Software Acquisition office:- Mass Media Duplication
