Emergency Call Boxes

Service Description

The campus emergency call boxes (blue light poles) are emergency ring down (automatic dialing) call boxes placed strategically around the UNC Campus by UNC Public Safety. The support of these call boxes is a shared responsibility of ITS Communication Technologies (capital equipment, maintenance & telephone link) and Campus Energy Services (AC power).

Hours of Availability

In-service and emergency support: 24 hours a day – 7 days a week (subject to periodic scheduled downtime for system maintenance and repair) New service provisioning: Monday through Friday – Normal University working hours (excluding observed holidays)
