Campus telephone service – Key System (Norstar)

Service Description

Telephone services provided in support of the Norstar key systems (i.e. PBX like functions and services). The Norstar systems are rented to campus departments (service includes KSU maintenance, system programming and desk-set repair.)
  • Install and/or connect wall outlet
  • Configure line with carrier to central office
  • System programming

Hours of Availability

In-service and emergency support: 24 hours a day – 7 days a week (subject to periodic scheduled downtime for system maintenance and repair) New service provisioning: Monday through Friday – Normal University working hours (excluding observed holidays)

All UNC-CH faculty and staff

Customer Responsibilities

Customer must submit a service requisition with an approved funding source, along with the specific room/wall/desk location where service is required.

How Do We Charge

Norstar systems are charged a monthly recurring fee at cost plus 10% overhead. Move, add and change orders also include any one-time vendor charges, plus installation fees billed at $45 per hour.
