ITS Information Security Briefing
On Thursday, May 8, ITS Information Security will host an Information Security Briefing for UNC-Chapel Hill IT staff featuring presentations by Oracle, Mandiant, Microsoft, Symantec and the Office of University Counsel. The event will take place from 8 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. in the Sonja Haynes Stone Center (PDF). Registration is required.

- Internet Threat Report: Anthony Barkley, Client Services Manager, Security Advisory Services, Symantec
- Malware: Chuck Kesler, Senior Project Manager, Security Advisory Services, Symantec
- Secure Web and Database Application Development: Hamza Jahangir, Principal Security Specialist, Oracle
- Incident Response: Michael Graven, Security Consultant, Mandiant
- Securing Vista: Steve Straub, Senior Solutions Specialist, Microsoft
- Records Retention: Kara Simmons, Assistant University Counsel, Office of University Counsel, UNC-Chapel Hill

ITS Information Security oversees the security of the University’s electronic information. It is responsible for coordinating and ensuring information security across the University in a manner that is consistent with industry best practices and the University’s compliance obligations.
