Affiliate Management System streamlines HR processes

When contract employees, research associates, visiting scholars, and others categorized as “affiliates” join the campus network, they receive key identifiers such as a PID, One Card and Campus Directory listing. These are the things that make it possible to get going on campus - for example, to log into key systems and to receive e-mail. Thanks to ITS, the time it takes to obtain these services has gone from a few days to a few hours.

New ACD makes 962-HELP even better

That’s why the ITS Response Center (ITRC) recently implemented a new automated call distribution system, or ACD, to route calls to 962-HELP, ITS’ technical customer support line.

Color printing debuts at Student Union computer lab

Double-sided printing is not recommended for color printing, but is an option for printing any document.

ITS Remedy Services builds change planning system

Several groups within ITS will pilot the application this month. ITS will use this tool while developing a long-term solution.

ITS upgrades listserver to reduce spam
February 21, 2008 at 9:15 am | In Features, Service UpdatesIf you subscribe to any open lists, chances are most of your spam comes from them. All of that changes on Friday.
This Friday evening, ITS will upgrade its listserver to apply the Proofpoint spam filter that already protects the ITS central e-mail system. This will drastically reduce the amount of spam received by members of open lists, which allow anyone to send a message to the list. The majority of lists at UNC-Chapel Hill are closed lists, meaning that only list members can send messages to the list address.
