Steven Haring named assistant vice chancellor for finance and administration

Steven Haring, a senior finance and human resource executive, has been named assistant vice chancellor for finance and administration.

Haring has extensive expertise in operating and capital budget preparation, financial reporting, automated financial systems and business software, accounting policies and procedures, human resource management and staff training and development.

Immediately prior to his appointment at UNC-Chapel Hill, Haring served as the director of budget control for information technology at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. Previously, he served as operations budget director for the Pan Am International Flight Academy and director of finance and administration for the Airbus Service Company and Training Center in Miami, Fla.

Haring has served as the chief financial officer for Florida LambdaRail, LLC and as assistant treasurer for the National LambdaRail, Inc. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration at Florida International University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
