Webmasters explore content management systems
July 30, 2008 at 3:22 pm | In Events, Features, Instructional NewsThe next Webmasters meeting will feature presentations on the content management systems Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. in ITS Manning 2400.
Jonathan Pletzke, an experienced technical leader, project manager and author, will present on Joomla and Wordpress. Judy Hallman, a retired campus webmaster and former Tier 2 analyst in the ITS Response Center, will focus on Drupal.
Pletzke’s experience includes work in telecommunications, insurance, transportation, financial and information industries along with university, defense, aviation, space and intelligence government projects. Pletzke, an ITS Financial Enterprise Applications employee, works on web applications for business process automation and document imaging.
Hallman joined the UNC Computation Center as a Fortran/Assembler programmer in 1967. She has worked with RTPnet providing hosting services for nonprofit organizations since 1989. Her current interests include Drupal and CiviCRM and recording the history of computing on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus
UNC-Chapel Hill Webmasters meets monthly to discuss issues that affect webmasters across campus. Any UNC-Chapel Hill faculty or staff interested in participating can attend the meeting and/or join the listserv.
