ITS Web Services helps ITS, campus groups with Web projects

In an effort to respond to ever-increasing requests for help with UNC-Chapel Hill Web sites, ITS Web Services has launched a new Web site, http://webservices.unc.edu. The site is designed to provide group information online and encourage two-way communication with current and potential customers.

Using the site, customers can view a portfolio of Web projects for several campus clients ranging from the American Indian Center to the Office of Human Resources. Information is also available about the Web Services team, its proven work process, and how to initiate a project. A Getting Started Guide and a client questionnaire help potential customers effectively assess project goals.

Red Hat to present on IT security

Red Hat will offer a presentation on IT security followed by a question-and-answer session on Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in 08 Peabody Hall. All interested UNC-Chapel Hill staff are invited to attend.

Matt Jamison, Red Hat Government Solutions Architect, will present on security topics including open source security foundations, Exec Shield, SE Linux and security best practices.
