UNC-Chapel Hill is about to take an important step in its implementation of a campus-wide system to store and control content. On Sept. 19, the University released a public request for information for enterprise-class document management and Web content management applications, two key components of what is commercially known as an enterprise content management (ECM) system.

Call for Proposals: UNC TLT Conference

Proposals for the 2008 UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Conference, “Mix It Up! Creative Combinations for Learning in North Carolina,” are now being accepted. The conference will explore the variety of innovative blends of people, places, research, technology, policy and approaches for teaching and learning.

The deadline for proposal submissions is Monday, Oct. 15. For more information, view the Call for Proposals online.

ERP takes center stage at campus-wide kickoff

Faculty and staff from across campus converged on the Alumni Center Ballroom last Wednesday, Sept. 12, to learn more about UNC-Chapel Hill’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project. The campus-wide kickoff celebration featured an address by Provost Bernadette Gray-Little and presentations on the project’s timeline and benefits.

ITS Response Center automates RAC-F password resets

Password resets are the most common request to the ITS Response Center, the equivalent of the constant work of two full-time employees per year. A combined initiative by the ITRC and Identity Management will automate password resets for the RAC-F system, removing almost a third of the ITRC’s password reset load and lightening the workload of several related personnel across campus.
