New ERP management structure strengthened
August 24, 2007 at 7:59 am | In Features, ITS AnnouncementsWith the implementation phase of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project fast approaching, changes have been made to strengthen the structure of the current ERP management team.
Stephanie Szakal, assistant vice chancellor for ITS Enterprise Applications, will assume the role of assistant vice chancellor and executive director for Enterprise Resource Planning, effective immediately. Szakal will be supported by Geoff Creaghan, the project manager for Deloitte, and Sharon Glover who will serve as the interim project coordinator for UNC-Chapel Hill until the position is filled permanently.

Classroom IT orientation available for instructors

These telephones are an emergency tool for rapid-response support when you have an unexpected problem with a room’s technical equipment.
However, when you’re teaching a 50-minute class, any delay can be critical. To head off problems and to avoid losing precious teaching time, prepare yourself in advance with a technology classroom orientation.

New version of Carolina Calendar released
August 22, 2007 at 7:41 am | In Features, ITS AnnouncementsOn Aug. 20, a completely new UNC-Chapel Hill events calendar deployed on the University’s home page. The Carolina Calendar provides information about University events for students, faculty, staff and the public.
Owned by UNC-Chapel Hill News Services, the new version of the Carolina Calendar was researched, recommended, developed and deployed by ITS. In addition, ITS will maintain the production environment and facilitate all future enhancements and upgrades.

Residence Hall printers and Smart Zones kick off academic year

“ITS is pleased to have an ongoing, close working relationship with Student Government leaders, who help us identify service improvements that are most useful to our students,” said Robyn East, associate vice chancellor for information technology and deputy CIO. “The residence hall printer initiative and the creation of the Smart Zones both represent beneficial outcomes of this partnership.”
