The University’s multi-year initiative to replace most of its student, HR, payroll and finance applications is now well underway. The project, called Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), will touch every administrative system on campus. Now, faculty and staff have the opportunity to learn more about how it will affect them.

The ERP team invites faculty and staff to attend a campus-wide kickoff celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The team will introduce the critical and complex ERP project at 2.p.m. in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center Ballroom.

Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Bernadette Gray-Little, chair of the ERP Executive Sponsors, will discuss the project, and ERP team members will provide information on the implementation timeline and some of the benefits ERP offers the University community. Attendees are invited to ask questions about the project as they enjoy refreshments. A complete agenda can be found at http://its.unc.edu/erp/.

While Phase I of the ERP implementation deals with student systems that manage processes such as admissions, financial aid and course registration, future phases will offer improvements to many other business processes across the University.

The Enterprise Resource Planning Project at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks to provide the University community with a fully integrated management system that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of campus applications supporting business practices.
