Tablet PC makes CCI debut

This year, for the first time, an official CCI tablet PC is available to students.

A tablet PC is a laptop computer that can convert into a ‘digital notebook’ by rotating the screen around. One can then write on the screen to draw, take notes, annotate files, and perform other computer operations using a stylus. The keyboard is available by swinging the screen back around to standard laptop configuration.

ResNET promotes added services at national conference

When members of UNC-Chapel Hill ResNET presented at the 2007 national ResNet Symposium, they had a message to give to ResNet organizations across the country: We can do more for students!

“Our goal was to plant the seeds for cultural change in ResNet nationally,” says Chris Williams, UNC-Chapel Hill ResNET manager. “At Chapel Hill, we do more than just residential networking now. As the Internet becomes a standard commodity, we have the opportunity to branch out and enhance classroom learning with training in technology tools that students can use in and out of the classroom.”

Aug. 2 Webmasters to preview Joomla! 1.5

They work in the ITS Control Center, supporting the ITS Manning machine room - the heart of campus technology that supports UNC-Chapel Hill services 24×7.
