Older CIT Web space courses archived

ITS provides course Web space for instructors who want to use conventional Web access outside of Blackboard. This course space has grown significantly since its beginning before the year 2000. In order to reduce the resource burden and align policies with its Blackboard retention policy, ITS has archived courses dating two years in the past and older. This also removed instructor access to them.

All courses dating from the fall semester of 2004 and earlier were archived into mass storage on Thursday, Oct. 19, and Friday, Oct. 20. If an instructor needs to retrieve information from one of these courses, ITS staff can access the mass storage archives and provide them with the data. These requests should be made via a Remedy ticket assigned to the ITS-CIT group.

Course spaces from Spring 2005 and newer are unaffected by this change. Instructors can continue to create new spaces by using the Course Web Space tool at http://www.unc.edu/courseid.
