Older CIT Web space courses archived

ITS provides course Web space for instructors who want to use conventional Web access outside of Blackboard. This course space has grown significantly since its beginning before the year 2000. In order to reduce the resource burden and align policies with its Blackboard retention policy, ITS has archived courses dating two years in the past and older. This also removed instructor access to them.

November IAIG meeting to cover audience response systems

The November Instructional Applications Interest Group (IAIG) meeting will cover audience response systems (aka “clickers”). ITS Teaching and Learning Consultant Suzanne Cadwell will give an overview on the progress being made on ITS’ evaluation of these systems for use in UNC-Chapel Hill classrooms. Interested faculty and staff are invited to attend this presentation on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in 404 Hanes Hall.

ITS develops system tailored for Friday Center

Reed honored by AAAS

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has honored Dan Reed, vice chancellor for IT and CIO, for his work with the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) and his contributions on the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC). The recognition was mentioned in the Nov. 27 edition of the Daily Tar Heel.

ITS Web Services designs UNC Press Encyclopedia site

ITS Web Services recently completed its first design project for an external client. The UNC Press site, designed to showcase UNC Press’ Encyclopedia of North Carolina, was finished within strict time and budget constraints. The new site can be viewed at http://uncpress.unc.edu/nc_encyclopedia/.
