ERP vendor demo dates announced

The first vendor to visit Carolina will be Oracle/PeopleSoft, which will demonstrate its product Nov. 7 to 10. The SunGard/Banner demo will take place Nov. 13 to 16. The SAP demo will be held Nov. 28 to Dec. 1.

ITS to demo OSP product
October 30, 2006 at 8:13 am | In Events, Instructional NewsITS Teaching and Learning has scheduled a demonstration of the open source portfolio (OSP) product that is part of the Sakai development effort. The demo will take place Thursday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. until noon in 08 Peabody Hall. All interested faculty and staff are invited to attend.
Update: Lenovo battery exchange begins Oct. 30
October 26, 2006 at 11:02 am | In Features, ITS AnnouncementsFaculty, staff and students with CCI laptops affected by the Lenovo battery recall may bring their recalled battery to the ITS Response Center in the basement of the Undergraduate Library beginning Monday, Oct. 30 to receive their new battery. It is not necessary to bring the laptop for the battery exchange.

Oct. 27 Freaky Friday to feature Remedy Update
October 26, 2006 at 9:24 am | In EventsOn Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. in ITS Franklin G102, ITS will host a Freaky Friday update on Remedy. The update will cover IT-Services Profile, a Remedy application to provide control panel access to RFS problem tickets and PTS projects, and Inventory Management, a Remedy application that facilitates the collection of key data elements of a department’s hardware assets.
Contract announced for next-gen 911 VoIP location services
October 25, 2006 at 7:32 am | In Features, ITS Announcements, Service UpdatesITS Telecommunications has signed a contract with Intrado, Inc. in Longmont, Colo., for deployment of next generation 911 services. The contract is part of a development effort that will allow VoIP users on campus to move their telephones or roam with WiFi VoIP phones and remain traceable by public safety officials responding to VoIP 911 emergency calls. The service is being built on top of a developing location services infrastructure effort to enable generic location aware applications.
