Sept. 1 Freaky Friday to cover ITS Security summer tour

This Friday, come hear the ITS Security Office discuss their Security Summer Tour! Having just completed their fifth successive year of summer consulting tours, Security will discuss the philosophy behind the tour, review some significant findings, offer some new ideas and ask for suggestions.

The Freaky Friday will be held at 11 a.m. in ITS Franklin G102.

Computer-Based Training expands course offerings

More than 2,800 courses are now available to subscribers of the Computer-Based Training (CBT) service offered by ITS to Carolina faculty, staff and students.

The addition primarily features technical courses that cover topics such as Java, Oracle, MS SQL Server, programming and Web development, Linux and project management.

ITS acquires Tripwire license

ITS Software Acquisition has obtained a University Site License for Tripwire Enterprise. The software is now available for purchase by faculty and staff for $149 per license. New version of WebFocus no simple upgrade

WebFocus is a report-generating system that serves almost 1,500 developers and other users at UNC-Chapel Hill. The largest user groups include Human Resources, Student Administration and Finance. Over the past 18 months, WebFocus was upgraded to the latest version in what became an enormous undertaking by the three-member Enterprise Reporting team within Enterprise Data Management — Kathryn Dempsey, Dan O’Neal and Michael Young.
