ResNet changes name to ResNET

The former Residential Networking (ResNet) group within the ITS User Support and Engagement division is now Residential Networking, Education & Technology (ResNET).

“We do much more than networking support; we provide support for any technology,” said Chris Williams, manager of ResNET. “But the new name also helps us emphasize our focus on the technology education that we provide each semester.”

Ibiblio’s Lyceum to host Teach for America blogs

The Lyceum project developed by ibiblio is helping Teach for America corps members communicate in the new blog community TeachFor.Us. Lyceum, an application that supports multiple blogs with one installation, will be used by corps members to share their experiences and support each other through the site.

Check and payroll requests now submitted via Doc-U-Fax

ITS Financial Applications staff, with the assistance of ITS Infrastructure and Operations Server Farm staff, recently upgraded the Doc-U-Fax fax server to a newer, more powerful server and doubled the number of phone lines available for this service. This upgrade assisted with the implementation of a new documentation requirement initiated by the Department of Finance.

A completely redesigned Web site for Information Technology Services made its debut today with a new customer-focused, service-oriented approach. The new site can be accessed at http://its.unc.edu and offers visitors easy access to information about ITS and the services ITS offers.
