ITS updates Common Payments System
February 27, 2006 at 10:48 am | In Features, Service UpdatesThe University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has more than 30 merchants that accept credit cards over the Web, as well as many units that allow remote entry (that is, a purchaser may call the unit and supply a credit card number, which is then entered in the system by an operator). To help these units comply with stricter security measures and fit in with the state’s financial system, ITS’ business applications unit has been revising the Common Payments System (CPS), the software that processes the payments. Director of business applications Mark Kozel announced Feb. 8 that the state has approved the new CPS, and that Career Services will be the first user of the new system.

Desktop Infrastructure to present at Feb. 24 Freaky Friday

Accounting Services develops Account Create System
February 23, 2006 at 10:46 am | In Service UpdatesITS Accounting Services is testing a new system for creating special Financial Records System (FRS) accounts through Finance Central. When released, the Account Services Account Create System will provide departments and foundations with a means to request the creation of non-state, non-contract and grant accounts and to justify account creation by attaching documents, e-mail, imaged documents and other information.
