Freaky Friday will cover Technology Assessment and Planning
January 26, 2006 at 12:12 pm | In EventsITS Associate Vice Chancellor John Oberlin will present an overview of the mission, methodologies and opportunities of the Technology Assessment and Planning (TAP) group this Friday, Jan. 27, at 1:00 p.m. in ITS Franklin G102.
Information technology is perhaps the single most important investment Carolina can make for the next century — it may also be the most expensive. The ITS Technology Assessment and Planning group works to provide ITS and the University with a forward-looking vision, an incubator for assessing new and emerging technologies, and the structure for developing a technology roadmap to deliver on the promise of ITS and University strategic directions. This introductory talk will review TAP’s mission, its approach to identifying and prototyping important emerging technologies, an overview of past and current projects and a discussion of possible collaborative opportunities.
