HIC talk on Darfur March 1

A graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communications department and former member of the ibiblio team, Mark McCarthy, will be on campus Tuesday, March 1, to discuss his role as the data coordinator in the Humanitarian Information Center (HIC) for Darfur. Via email, Mark describes the organization’s role “…as part of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs…[which] fill the information gaps that are present at the early stages of a humanitarian crisis.”
