Distance Education program launch
October 30, 2004 at 4:24 pm | In ITS AnnouncementsUNC-Chapel Hill recently announced an innovative distance-learning program designed to teach North Carolina’s health professionals the Spanish language skills they need to better serve the state’s rapidly growing Latino patient population. The ITS Center for Instructional Technology (ITS CIT) has contributed technical, design and accessibility support for this interdisciplinary project during the past four years. The ¡A Su Salud! product, published by Yale University Press, uses DVD-based video, DVD- and web-based interactive exercises, and a comprehensive print workbook to teach intermediate Spanish skills and to promote cultural awareness.

Features added to Oracle calendar
October 19, 2004 at 2:34 pm | In ITS Announcements, Service UpdatesThe free Online Calendar program, hosted by ITS, is adding additional features on Oct. 17, 2004, to improve time management capabilities for the entire campus community. In order to better meet individual time management needs, the calendar program will be available on the Web, the desktop and wireless devices. The increased flexibility in Online Calendar delivery options is coupled with the integration of faculty and student software into a single program. Faculty and staff are invited to visit UNC Calendar Services to access the Online Calendar program.
