Discussion to explore game-based learning
ITS Teaching and Learning’s Games4Learning initiative will host a discussion on “Does Game-Based Learning Work? Results from Three Recent Studies” on Wednesday July 16 at 12 p.m. in room 222, Murphy Hall. Laura Christopherson, a doctoral student in the School of Information and Library Sciences, will lead the discussion.
The article is from the 2007 proceedings of the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference and was written by Dr. Rick Blunt, director of plans and programs for the Department of Defense Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative. It explores the results of three research studies that were conducted at a national university to examine the difference in academic achievement among students who did and did not use video games in learning.
