Enterprise Applications interim appointments announced

Following Stephanie Szakal’s recent move to assistant vice chancellor for Enterprise Resource Planning and Deputy CIO Robyn East’s interim role overseeing Enterprise Applications, two director-level positions will be created to assist in the management of Enterprise Applications.

In the interim, Mimi Bennett will act as interim director of Enterprise Systems and Mechelle Clayton will assume responsibility for University Services while continuing to assist with oversight of the Business Analysis team. Until the two new positions are filled, Bennett and Clayton will support East in her oversight of the division. Continue Reading

On-call pay and shift premium pay sheets for biweekly #07 ending Sunday, Sept. 30 will be due to the designated boxes or to the ITS business office no later than 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1.

ITS business office boxes are located in ITS Manning, Giles Horney, Peabody, the Undergraduate Library and the Administrative Office Building.

ITS employees garner University awards for excellence

Two ITS employees were recognized for their outstanding contributions to ITS and the Carolina community at a luncheon on Sept. 24.

Bruce Egan, manager of the ITS Response Center, was honored with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence and the State Employees Award for Excellence, the highest honor a state employee can receive. Joe Bray, applications specialist, received one of just two Excellence in Management Awards. Continue Reading


Call for Proposals: UNC TLT Conference

Proposals for the 2008 UNC Teaching and Learning with Technology Conference, “Mix It Up! Creative Combinations for Learning in North Carolina,” are now being accepted. The conference will explore the variety of innovative blends of people, places, research, technology, policy and approaches for teaching and learning.

ITS Response Center automates RAC-F password resets

Password resets are the most common request to the ITS Response Center, the equivalent of the constant work of two full-time employees per year. A combined initiative by the ITRC and Identity Management will automate password resets for the RAC-F system, removing almost a third of the ITRC’s password reset load and lightening the workload of several related personnel across campus. ERP companion project to provide University-wide document and Web content management solution
