ITS Advisory Committees
The ITS Advisory Committees' mission is to involve UNC-Chapel Hill stakeholders regarding how ITS services are developed, implemented, delivered, supported and communicated to the campus. The Committees will be provided with updates on the activities of the associated ITS division for feedback and discussion.
Committees shall provide advice to the ITS Vice Chancellors regarding the recommended direction for ITS on the subject/issue being reviewed. Each advisory committee's goal is to represent the entire campus when making their recommendations, not just the individual goals of their department, center or school.
Campus Committee Members:
Each ITS Advisory Committee will be comprised of 8 to 10 members of the UNC-Chapel Hill community. For each Committee, membership will be distributed among campus staff, faculty, and students.
Terms of Appointment:
Terms will coincide with the calendar year. During the first term, three of the Committee positions will be for a one year term and four positions will be for a two year term. This will allow for the Committee positions to be staggered in order to provide a combination of new perspectives and continuity of information. Upon the completion of the first year for the three committee members, the term of appointment shall henceforth be for a two year period.
Students will always have a one-year term.
Two months prior to the completion of a Committee member's term of appointment, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for that Committee shall commence the recruitment of new members to ensure continuous representation from campus.
Meetings and Working Groups:
The Committees will have four yearly meetings (twice in Spring semester, twice in Fall semester) in addition to ad hoc sessions as needed.
Working groups for specific projects may be formed from the Committee membership to work on specific projects requiring additional meetings and support. The working groups will report information/recommendations back to the Committee.
