On March 18, 2010, Chancellor Holden Thorp, President Emeritus William C. Friday and other special guests gathered at the Nelson Mandela Auditorium of the FedEx Global Education Center to celebrate 50 years of Carolina computing. The event was jointly sponsored by Information Technology Services, the Department of Computer Science, and the School of Information and Library Science.
