ITS Teleworking Policy
Effective - January 1, 2006
Background
During the renovation of ITS Franklin, there was inadequate workspace on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) campus for every employee within Information Technology Services (ITS). A telework policy was established to allow employees to work from locations other than the UNC-CH campus.
New ITS Telework Policy
The previous ITS telework policy will be discontinued on January 1, 2006. Following that date, teleworking will not be allowed in ITS as a standard practice. In the event of a short term family crisis, illness or other situation that requires an ITS employee to work from home, the employee may receive approval from his or her manager and AVC to telework for a short period of time. Employees and ITS management must understand that teleworking will be on an exception basis and is not a standard practice.
