ITS Retirement Policy

The ITS policy for funding retirement parties applies only to employee's retiring from ITS with at least 5 years of state service. It does not apply to those going from one position to another position or leaving a current ITS position for other employment.
Employees are eligible for the following amount from ITS Funds based on TSSD (Total State Service Date):
- Less than 5 years of state service = not eligible
- 5 - 30 years of state service = $100.00 per year of service up to a maximum of $2,000.00
Funds can be used for the following:
- May receive a gift card in the amount of $100.00, to be taken from allowable amount determined by years of TSSD.
- May not request a charitable donation in lieu of a retirement party.
- Employees with 5 - 30 years are eligible for an event which may include all of ITS or a select number of attendees of choice, as long as service-based allocation covers the cost.
- Event may be at an ITS location or an offsite location.
Procedure
- Contact ITS HR to verify years of service, if necessary.
- Contact Renee Massey at 962-6501 or Renee_ Massey@unc.edu in the ITS Business Office to discuss billing, etc.
- Manager is responsible for purchasing gift card and submitting a receipt to the Business Office for reimbursement.
- Manager is responsible for all aspects of arranging the event.
