Although a robust application, Blackboard cannot meet all instructors' needs. For faculty who want to create a customized or open site, ITS Learning Management Support offers Course Web Space, which allows public access to materials and tight control over the navigation and graphical look.
Sakai Action Group

In addition to ensuring that existing learning management systems meet the needs of faculty and students, ITS Learning Management Support is always looking toward the future. We strive to provide choices and cutting-edge technology for our clients.
The Sakai Action Group is an example of our efforts in this arena. This advisory team includes faculty and IT professionals who conduct research and develop recommendations for adding the Sakai application to the available LMS options to Carolina faculty. The Sakai Action Group and TLI Learning Management Support recently launched a prototype of the application to gain first-hand knowledge of its functionality from both instructional and technological perspectives.
Sakai is a free and open source product that is built and maintained by the Sakai community.
