Instructors at UNC-Chapel Hill have been using Blackboard since 1999, beginning with small pilot of a fewer than 20 Web sites. Currently, at UNC at Chapel Hill, over 23,000 students students and 2,000 instructors take advantage of this powerful learning management system.
Through Blackboard, instructors set up customized course sites that allow them to:
- Post course materials and resources
- Link to online assignments
- Email students without setting up a listserv
- Securely report grades on assignments
- Participate in online discussions
