Second Life is a virtual networked environment in which people create an avatar and then interact with other avatars in this virtual world created by its residents. Harvard, Princeton, and MIT are just a few of the leading universities using Second Life to supplement their existing brick and mortar institutions.
We are inviting any interested faculty, staff, or students to take an active role in guiding our UNC-Chapel Hill Second Life presence by contacting Kathy Kyzer. Our first task will be to generate and prioritize a list potential strategic pilot projects that can be implemented in Second Life.
- Project Goals:
- Determine campus collaborators
- Generate a list of potential pilot projects
- Prioritize the list of pilot projects
- Assign resources to complete the top priority projects
Staff members from Information Technology Services, along with other volunteer UNC-Chapel Hill staff and graduate students, are building UNC-Chapel Hill's presence in Second Life.
