The EduCAUSE Learning Initiative 2007 Spring Focus Session theme this year is "Immersive Learning Environments: New Paths to Interaction and Engagement." Immersive learning environments (ILEs) include online games, virtual worlds, and simulations. The focus session will address pedagogical uses and impact on learner engagement, the interactivity of ILEs and how it encourages creative thinking and problem-solving skills, and implementation issues. Jacques Morin and Sean Semone, Office of Arts and Sciences Information Services (OASIS), will bring a few of the topics they thought most interesting, thought-provoking, and relevant to UNC-Chapel Hill to this ConsiderIT session.
