ResNET has been a phenomenal experience for me. Over the course of three semesters, I have had the chance to network and meet so many interesting people through ResNET. In addition, my people and technology skills have increased by leaps and bounds! Plus it is also a great resume building opportunity. Overall, one of the best organizations on campus to work for. My only regret is that I didn't join the ResNET family earlier.

I could not imagine the valuable skills I have learned while being a part of the ResNET team. I've learned many technical skills by working with a group that has an extremely diverse and useful knowledge base. There is also opportunity to expand interactions with people, through public speaking as well as communications with those in your area. As an RCC, you have the ability to be an integral part of your campus community. ResNET has allowed me to meet amazing new people in housing, my community government, and the students who need assistance. I continue building on these relationships as the semester continues. I work with amazing people, both in ResNET and the housing community, and it's amazing to see how you can work and grow being a part of this group.

The work that you do while you're with ResNET is so useful in other areas of life that it's ridiculous! You learn how to give presentations that are both informative and engaging, and afterwards whenever you have to do one for class it no longer seems like such an ordeal. You pick up interpersonal skills that allow you to interact with others in a manner that is professional without having to be formal. You gain a wide array of technological experiences that prepare you to use technology in the future...and even if you don't plan on going into the IT field you can feel pretty confident that they will still come in handy.

ResNET puts me in the middle of the best part of being at UNC -- the complex system of students, staff, and community with the amazing ability to demonstrate unlimited goodwill and friendship to others while working for a great cause. ResNET was more than I could have asked for during college. Yes, it was a job, but it never felt like it. I always had fun working on support issues, meeting a lot of new people inside and outside of the program, attending meetings and social gatherings, helping on- and off-campus residents whenever possible, and educating the community about technology. Besides the benefit of free housing, I learned a lot, found new friends, and developed customer service, communication and leadership skills that have helped in my endeavors since graduating. I always enjoyed the folks managing the program, too. I'm so lucky to have seen an ad about ResNET at the end of my freshman year and apply last minute...one of my best decisions to date!

Being part of ResNET has allowed me to work with the best at UNC. The training, people, facilities, and resources available to RCCs and to ResNET are second to none. Not only do you get to work with so many different people, but you are able to work on your own projects and teach students in your community about technology, computers, and even video games.
