What is the Control Center?
The Control Center is responsible for the day-to-day management of the central computer and networking hardware facilities. By monitoring these systems and devices the Control Center is able to ensure that all equipment is fully functional and responsive to user needs.
What are the hours of operation for the Control Center?
The Control Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There is always a human presence in the Control Center, and this schedule is maintained by three rotating shifts
Where is the Control Center located?
The Control Center is located in suite 3100 of ITS Manning.
What systems does the Control Center monitor?
The Control Center monitors ITS Central Computing Servers, the entire University Network, Library Sciences Computers, LearnNC Computers and Ibiblio.
Who manages the Control Center?
Tonya Heath, Operations Manager of the Control Center, who reports directly to Bruce Egan, Director of the ITS Service Desk.
How many employees staff the Control Center?
There are a total of 15 members of the Control Center staff.
How do I contact the Control Center staff?
The Control Center may be contacted by phone: (919) 962-6503 or via the department mailing list. Additionally, you can email individual staff members.
How do I institute the ITS Conference Bridge?
To engage the Conference Bridge dial 962-2729. The first party to dial this number will hear the line ringing until a second party dials the same number and joins the conference. If you have any problems with or questions about this service, please call us at 962-6503.
