Advisories
The Information Security Office at UNC-Chapel Hill monitors a number of lists on a daily basis. These lists are scanned for reports of new threats, major vulnerabilities, and exploits which pose a significant risk to the campus community. Notices are then sent to campus email lists, principally security_outreach@unc.edu and ctc@unc.edu. Typically, the notices sent out by ISO involve critical issues for which there are solutions, along with information regarding the particulars (the how and why) involving the new threat or vulnerability.
