Security Awareness
Through security awareness efforts and training, the Information Security Office seeks to educate users about risks to data, whether the risks are to the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of the data. The Information Security Office also provides basic information as to what users can do to protect their data. The security awareness program at UNC-Chapel Hill, managed by the Information Security Office, seeks to achieve these goals by providing security information on the campus web, issuing e-mail advisories on new threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits, publishing articles in the local media, meeting regularly with designated security liaisons, making group presentations, and by direct consultation and collaboration with peers.
