Support and Training

IT technical support is available to the UNC-Chapel Hill community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Simply call (919) 962-HELP, or choose an option below.

Online Support

  • help.unc.edu
The ITS Knowledge Base contains thousands of helpful documents. Find answers to technical issues as well as how-to guides, best practices, tips, training documents and more.
  • Submit/Update a Web Request for Help
Submit a new help request, check or update existing open requests and review resolved or closed requests. Our goal is to assign your request to the appropriate group within 30 minutes.
  • Online Chat
Use our Online Chat service to chat live with a technical support person. This service can also allow the use of desktop streaming, where the support person, with your permission, can access your desktop to assist you with your problem.

In Person

  • Walk-In
The ITS Response Center (ITRC) is located in the lower level of the R.B. House Undergraduate Library (next to the Pit). View the walk-in schedule.
  • On-site Support
Any student living in an on-campus residence hall, including Odum Village, may request  ResNET On-Site Support. See the ResNET Web site for more details on the program.

Training

  • LearnIT
ITS LearnIT offers opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to learn about the use of information technology (IT) to increase productivity and to engage in discussions about technology's role and impact on the University mission.
