ITS Research Analysis Consultants Jonathan Pletzke and Pallavi Pratapa will demonstrate the Carolina Data Warehouse for Health at the end of the 2:30 presentation Biomedical Informatics Tools for Researchers: Clinical Data Management and Carolina Data Warehouse-Health and throughout the afternoon. The Warehouse, which contains UNC Healthcare data collected since July 2004, is used for research and quality purposes for various health issues such as diabetes, smoking, asthma and pediatric end of life data.

Computer-based training, which has served Carolina in its current form since June 2005, will cease service on Saturday, Feb. 28 when its current license expires. According to Charles "Charlie" Green, assistant vice chancellor for teaching and learning, the decision not to renew the license was a difficult one.

The UNC Oracle calendar upgrade has been rescheduled for this weekend. Access to the calendar will be unavailable beginning today at 5 p.m. until the evening of Sunday, July 27. During this time, all access to the calendar server via Oracle desktop client, Microsoft Outlook connector, Web interface, smartphones and PDA�s via SyncML or desktop conduit will be unavailable.

Several Smart Zones in the Carolina Union are undergoing a transition this summer. Smart Zones, introduced in 2007 at the request of the Student Technology Advisory Board, are informal meeting spaces which allow students a place to interact and perform group work.
