Last week, Control Center staff moved 38 racks between Phillips Hall, ITS Franklin and ITS Manning. They spent countless hours planning, coordinating and physically moving the equipment, including two full Saturdays. The moves were completed last weekend without a hitch.

The ITS Telecommunications Customer Service and Administrative Office will move from the Giles Horney building to the new ITS Manning building, located at the corner of Manning and ER Drives, on Tuesday, March 13. As a result, the group's old office at the Giles Horney Building will be closed March 12 and 13. Requests for pager, cellular, and voice services will not be available during this time.

ITS has received a certificate of occupancy for ITS Manning and permanent chilled water for the facility. Furniture will be installed soon from the first floor upwards, and staff can begin moving into ITS Manning in mid-February. Now that we have occupancy, ITS HR will work on finalizing the move dates.

Preparations continue for the staff move to ITS Manning. The Control Center will probably move in late December, with other staff following most likely between mid-January and mid-February.

FPHR staff and move coordinators continue to plan for the upcoming move to ITS Manning. Currently, move coordinators are finalizing plans with AVCs to make telephone orders. Telecomm will need to work closely with BellSouth to coordinate logistics. Most ITS staff will keep their current phone when they move. In addition, move coordinators are working with their groups to compile a master inventory of all fax machines, projectors and printers that need to be moved to new buildings.
