The next Webmasters meeting will take place Thursday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. in ITS Manning 5102. The meeting will provide a forum for open discussion, particularly about recent “hot topics” on the listserv such as Flash media server, iTunes and Onyen authentication for Wordpress and Joomla!.
UNC-Chapel Hill Webmasters meets monthly to discuss issues that affect webmasters across campus. Any UNC-Chapel Hill faculty or staff interested in participating can attend the meeting and/or join the listserv.

ITS Information Security, will be held on Thursday, May 8 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sonja Haynes Stone Center. The event is open to all UNC-Chapel Hill IT staff and managers and is free of charge.
Registration is required as the event will be limited to the first 200 registrants.

On Thursday, May 8, ITS Information Security will host an Information Security Briefing for UNC-Chapel Hill IT staff featuring presentations by Oracle, Mandiant, Microsoft, Symantec and the Office of University Counsel. The event will take place from 8 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. in the Sonja Haynes Stone Center. Registration is required.

Carolina Computing Initiative, or CCI, has worked to offer students affordable computer packages including a four-year warranty and insurance coverage. Recently, CCI program coordinators were able to adapt the program coverage, resulting in big savings for students and families.
