A seminar on Solaris Zones addressing what they are, how they work and how to configure them will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. in ITS Franklin G102 A practical workshop will follow from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. If attending the workshop portion of the presentation, please bring a laptop with 3 GB of disk space and a DVD drive. The labs will be done in a VMware Solaris image.

Larry D. Conrad has been named Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Conrad previously served as Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice President for Technology Integration at Florida State University. Toys for Tots. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys to needy children in the community during the holiday season.

ITS' automated data backup solution, Iron Mountain, is getting a makeover. Upgrades to the system make it more visually appealing, easier to use and more streamlined. They also make it easier for campus users to sign in, by using their Onyen to login for access to registration, installation and data retrieval.
